Hey Everyone!
It is going to take a little getting used to having our blog moved over here, but that's okay. How was everyones' Thanksgiving Breaks? I had so much fun in NYC with some old friends from high school, so that was really cool. I do miss my family, though. I didn't get to see them very much over the break, since I was gone. We only have three more weeks here at Purdue, including Finals week (which means i have no classes, only finals) and dead week (which is next week) which is basically supposed to be review, but I think a bunch of my teachers are still going to be teaching material because we are behind in a few of them because a few of my teachers cancelled some classes recently. Anyway, I'm really excited about starting next semester because I know what I need to do to stay on top of things better, and it was really fun coming to college and having this all be new to me, but it will be nice to know what to expect a little more and stuff. I'm really excited about break for a lot of reasons, it's going to be such an awesome break! Breaks now are so exciting because it means I get to see old friends, or family, or go home and on vacation, and it's just so exciting always, not just a couple of days off like in high school. And, in college you get a fresh start at the semester, which is really nice. I learned a lot more information about the poverty/homelessness simulation Sunday night when I got back to school by talking to my friend J.C. and walking around the area with him at 10:30-11:30PM Sunday night and just kind of getting a feel for the area. He promises me that if my mom allows me to do the simulation, that he will not leave me and anna or whoever else out there if we do not have a guy with us, so that's good, and we will have a cell phone or two on us at all times. The police of Lafeyette are being informed and will know our whereabouts. We know where the missions are and they are pretty nice, I got to see them from the outside Sunday night as we were walking. It will probably be snowing and below freezing this weekend, so that will be tough, but if God honestly wants us out there, then He will protect us. If not, we are praying that God completely pulls this out from under our feet so that we are for sure doing this for his glory if it IS what he wants and if not, then we don't want to go. We are doing it to raise pledges and donations for City Light Ministries in Indianapolis, an organization that works with inner city boys and men from troubles lives and places who area most likely going to end up on the streets, in jail, or dead. If anyone wants more information on it, I have papers they've sent me that explain this all better that I can e-mail to ya'll. If you all could just pray about whether or not I should be doing this...because honestly I could find a lot of things I need to get done and have a very productive weekend around here getting projects and things done, but if this is really what God wants, then I am willing. I just want to make sure I'm doing it for God, and that I'm not just doing this because it seems like a good idea.
Anyway, I love you all and I need to take a shower and clean up my room before class. I hope you all are safe and sound and had a wonderful time with family and friends over Thanksgiving Break and that you are all rested up and ready for your last stretch of the semester. Stay strong and stick with everything because Christmas Break is coming up soon!
Love your sister,
Jenny
